Frequently Asked Questions

There is no cost to you or your family for our guidance and placement services. Instead, our fee is covered by the senior living community where your loved one chooses to move.

Not at all. We are completely independent, meaning our recommendations are driven entirely by your loved one’s unique care needs, budget, and personal preferences—never by exclusive contracts.

We start with a comprehensive conversation to understand your loved one’s medical needs, daily living assistance requirements, budget, and personal preferences (drive time from family house, activities, etc.). This allows us to narrow down the choices and focus exclusively on communities that are a genuine, safe match.

From Golden Heart’s perspective, we have a simple client agreement that ensures we disclose everything that you need to know.  There are no long-term contracts (you can stop working with us at any time), and everything is completely transparent.

From a community perspective, they typically require a recent medical evaluation or doctor’s assessment, a medication list, and basic health history forms. We will guide you through every document needed and help coordinate with your loved one’s healthcare providers so nothing is missed.

The timeline varies depending on your situation. If you are open to several options, a move can often be arranged in just a few days. If you have specific criteria or if a preferred community has a waiting list, it may take a bit longer.

We take the guesswork out of your search by personally touring and vetting the communities we recommend. Because we know their staff, care standards, pricing, and daily environments firsthand, we can match you with places we truly trust.

We are here to guide, educate, and advocate for you every step of the way, helping you navigate your options with confidence. Ultimately, the final decision is always yours—we provide the expert insight, and you choose the community that feels right for your family.

We understand that transitions can be stressful, and it often takes a little time to settle into a new routine. Unless there are safety or urgent concerns, we generally suggest giving a new environment about 60 days to feel it out. If it still isn’t working, we will be right by your side to help you find a community that better suits your needs.
